Lake Worth is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, which takes its name from the intercoastal waterway along its eastern border. The lake itself was named for General William J. Worth, who led U.S. forces during the Second Seminole War.

Over the years Lake Worth has evolved as a beautiful city.  Many people have relocated to this city, hence increasing the construction of new homes and the expansion of the residential and commercial infrastructure.

One can choose to live on the intercoastal waterway, enjoying the breathtaking landscape or choose to live in the suburbs with beautiful sprawling homes.

The city also boasts a train station that links it to the tri-rail, which serves Palm Beach County. Some of the other area attractions includes parks, water recreation, museums and major shopping malls.

Education
Lake Worth Community High School is the second oldest high school in Palm Beach County, established in 1922. The city is also home to Lake Worth Middle School and several elementary schools.

Palm Beach Community College's main campus is located in unincorporated Lake Worth. It is the oldest community college in Florida, founded in 1933 as Palm Beach Junior College.
